Mon, Oct 7, 2024 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Blugold Super Six Heidi Arciszewski A four-time letterwinner in women's basketball, Heidi Arciszewski concluded her career with the Blugolds last season after helping the women's basketball team to two consecutive NCAA tournament appearances. She was also a member of the Blugold softball team that won the 2008 NCAA Division III title. As a key cog on the women's basketball team for the past four years, she earned the team's Most Valuable Player award twice (2007 and 2009) while receiving rookie of the year honors in 2006. In 2009 she led the entire conference in free throw percentage and minutes played. In 2008, she became just the 14th player in Blugold history to surpass the 1,000-point mark in a career. After one more season on the court, she finished her career with 1,434 points, fourth on the Blugolds' all-time scoring list. Arciszewski capped off her basketball career ranked in a number of other Blugold career categories: first in free throws made (442) and attempted (536), first in minutes played (3,461), tied for third in games started (106), fifth in games played (114), 11th in assists (282), 13th in rebounding (546), and 15th in steals (147). For her contributions, she was named to the D3hoops.com All-Central Region second team in 2009 while receiving All-WIAC honors three times. Arciszewski has been named to UW-Eau Claire's Dean's List twice while receiving academic distinction four times. She was a member of the Blugolds' Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and has helped in the community with Relay for Life, community clean-up, Community Table, Special Olympics, Blugold Buddies and youth basketball practices. A marketing major with a 3.28 GPA, Arciszewski will graduate this spring. |
