Jarod Benrud was a three-year letter winner for the Blugold wrestling team and was a team captain. He had finishes of third and fourth place at the conference tournament and led the team in pins two years. Benrud was also a three-year letter winner for the Blugold football team.

Benrud, an exercise management major, is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, president of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee, and a UWEC Ambassador.
