Fri, Dec 6, 2024 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Gymnasts Upend Gustavus Posted: Friday, March 11, 2005 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team had its second highest score of the season in defeating Gustavus Adolphus 182.850-176.000 here tonight at the McPhee Phy. Ed. Center. The win over the Gusties is the second in two weeks after dropping the previous six match ups. UW-Stout was originally scheduled to compete but was unable to attend due to injury and illness while only two judges were available due to weather conditions. The Blugolds defeated Gustavus in all four events while having the first place finisher in each event. Theresa Lynch (Fr.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) had a strong performance winning the uneven bars and floor exercise competitions. Lynch scored a season-high 9.350 on the uneven bars and shared first place with teammate Ashley Brett (So.-Forest Lake, MN) in the floor exercise with each scoring a 9.450. Alison Eagles (Sr.-Shoreview, MN/Mounds View) won the vault competition with a 9.400. Lynn Morris (Jr.-Monticello, IN/Twin Lakes) won the balance beam competition with a season-best 9.600. Morris also had a season-high 9.200 on the vault. The Blugolds had a season-best score of 46.650 in the floor exercise competition with each gymnast scoring at least a 9.100. Morris took the all-around crown with a 37.000 followed by Lynch with a 36.750 and Eagles with a 36.500. Morris' win came in her first attempt at the all-around competition this year. The meet concludes the regular season for the Blugolds. Eau Claire will compete in both the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships and the National Collegiate Gymnastics Association Regionals Friday.
