Fri, Dec 6, 2024 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Gymnasts Drop Narrow Decision At Hamline Quad Posted: Friday, March 4, 2005 ST. PAUL, Minn. - The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team led going into the final rotation but a late Hamline comeback dropped the Blugolds to second at the Hamline Invitational held here today. The Blugolds finished with a score of 180.400 barely trailing Hamline's 180.525. Hamline used a strong finish in the floor exercise to push past Eau Claire. UW-La Crosse came in third with a 179.650 followed by Gustavus Adolphus with a 177.175. Alison Eagles (Sr.-Shoreview, MN/Mounds View) took the all-around title with a score of 36.800. Eagles also won the vault with a 9.350 and took second in the floor exercise with a 9.300. The Blugolds owned the vault with Eagles taking first and Angie Cich (Fr.-Plymouth, MN/Armstrong) and Kristi Olson (Fr.-Minnetonka, MN) taking third and fourth, respectively. Lynn Morris (Jr.-Monticello, IN/Twin Lakes) was the top Blugold on the uneven parallel bars with a 9.175. Theresa Lynch (Fr.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) had the top Eau Claire score on the balance beam with a 9.200. Eau Claire will close the regular season when it hosts UW-Stout Friday in a dual meet. The meet is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. - JL - |
