Fri, Dec 6, 2024 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Gymnasts Welcome La Crosse Friday Posted: Wednesday, February 9, 2005 EAU CLAIRE - The fourth-ranked UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team will host four-time defending national champion UW-La Crosse in a dual meet Friday at the McPhee Phy. Ed. Center. The Blugolds come into the meet with a 1-0 record in dual meets and a 7-5 record overall. The only Div. III loss of the year for Eau Claire came against La Crosse in a triangular with Whitewater. Alison Eagles (Sr.-Shoreview, MN/Mounds View) leads the Blugolds into the meet. Eagles has been consistently strong with an Eau Claire-best in the vault at 9.650 and all-around competition at 37.650. Lynn Morris (Jr.-Monticello, IN/Twin Lakes) has the highest Blugold score on the uneven bars. Morris has scored over nine in her last four meets on the bars and scored an Eau Claire-high 9.375 earlier this year. Jenni Wick (Jr.-Sartell, MN) holds the Blugold-high on the balance beam with a 9.550 while Ashley Brett (So.-Forest Lake, MN) has the best Blugolds score in the floor exercise at 9.475. The Eagles come into the dual meet fifth in the nation. Eau Claire's team average score of 181.350 narrowly edges out La Crosse's 180.4875. La Crosse has yet to lose this year going 3-0 in dual meets and 10-0 overall. Nina Schubert holds the highest score in the nation on the uneven bars with a 9.3938. The Eagles also have two of the top three individual scores on the balance beam. The meet is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. - JL - |
