(UWECBlugolds.com) - Following its runner-up finish at the 2011 WIAC Tournament, the UW-Eau Claire softball team has earned an at-large bid to compete in the 2011 NCAA Division III Championship, NCAA officials announced today. The Blugolds will host a regional tournament, May 12-16, which will feature seven other teams. Joining the Blugolds in the Eau Claire Regional are Luther College (Iowa), College of St. Scholastica (Minn.), North Central College (Ill.), UW-La Crosse, St. Thomas University (Minn.), Ripon College and UW-River Falls.
