(UWECBlugolds.com) - UW-Eau Claire softball player Sara Baumgartner (Sr.-Arcadia, Wis.) has been named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-District Five College Division Third team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America, the organization announced today. Baumgartner is a broadfield social studies education major with a 3.75 GPA. She has started all 38 of the Blugolds’ games this season, playing in centerfield. Baumgartner is second on the team with a .411 batting average, a mark that is fourth best in the conference. She leads the team with 51 hits and is second with 33 runs. Her 51 hits are also the second highest total in the conference while runs scored are third. She is also third on the team with 29 RBIs. The Academic Allâ€District teams are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. The University Division team includes NCAA Division I participants, while the College Division team combines NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, NAIA, Canadian and twoâ€year schools. |
