Sun, Dec 8, 2024 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Gymnastics Takes Third at Home Invite By: Kevin Meinholz, Sports Information Director EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (UWECBlugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team finished in third place out of three teams at its own UW-Eau Claire Invite at the McPhee Physical Education Center tonight. UW-La Crosse won the meet with a score of 179.600 while UW-Stout was second with 177.550. The Blugolds finished with a total of 177.375. Michaela McCamey (Fr.-Dayton, Ohio/Homeschooled) led Eau Claire tonight, winning the balance beam with a mark of 9.475, a career-best. In her first meet last weekend, she scored an 8.925 in the event. McCamey also found her way to a third place finish in the all-around with a score of 35.750, also a career-high. The Blugolds’ top finisher in the all-around was Danielle Schulzetenberg (So.-Maple Grove, Minn.), who recorded a 36.225, her best score so far this season, to finish in second place. She was also the Blugolds’ top finisher on the uneven bars, taking fourth with an 8.725. In the floor exercise, Cece Solem (So.-Mendota Heights, Minn./Henry Sibley) led Eau Claire by tying for second with a 9.350. Sarah Hulbert (Sr.-Waukesha, Wis./North) was Eau Claire’s top finisher on the vault as she tied for fourth with a 9.375. Next Friday the Blugolds will head to San Jose, California to face San Jose and Utah State. Action will get underway at 9p.m. |
