The Blugolds lost the St. Cloud meet 218-75 and fell to Stevens Point 213-70. Second place finishes by Jonathan Poppele (Jr.-Maple Grove, Minn./Wayzata) and Nick Badilla (So.-Appleton, Wis./North) were the best Blugold placings of the competition. Badilla also earned a third place finish in the three-meter diving competition with a final number of 277.30. The only other top-three finishes of the day were by Ben Epperly (Fr.-Schaumburg, Ill.) in the 1,000-yard freestyle and Corey Groshens (So.-St. Louis Park, Minn./Hopkins) in the 200-yard breaststroke competition. The Blugolds’ next opportunity for redemption will be in a home meet against UW-Oshkosh at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13. |
