(UWECBlugolds.com) - UW-Eau Claire women's swimming Julia Olson (Jr.-Faribault, Minn.) has earned Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week honors, Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Matt Stanek announced today. Olson was part of three event wins on Oct. 23, as the Blugolds defeated Northern Michigan University 141-101. She won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.77, while taking the top spot in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 54.57. Olson also led off the Blugolds’ winning 400-yard freestyle relay team that finished with a time of 3:44.86, more than 20 seconds ahead of the second-place team from NMU. |
