LAKE WISSOTA, Wis. (UWECBlugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire men's cross country team took second place out of four teams at the Lake Wissota Invitational today.

The Blugolds finished with 31 points, just behind NCAA Division II opponent, University of Minnesota-Duluth, which scored 25. Viterbo University was third with 95 points and UW-River Falls was fourth with 109.

Duluth won the top three spots individually, but the Blugolds took the next four and six out of the top 10 overall.

Kevin Weber (Sr.-Mounds View, Minn./Irondale) led the Blugolds with a time of 26:32 to finish fourth.

Jake Zander (Jr.-Chippewa Falls, Wis./McDonell) came in fifth in a time of 26:44 while Alex Cole (Fr.-Lakeville, Minn./North) took sixth, coming in two seconds later.

Joe Martschinke (Fr.-Waukesha, Wis./West) was seventh, while Michael Borden (Jr.-Holmen, Wis.) and Philip Schommer (So.-Kimberly, Wis.) rounded out the top 10, coming in ninth and 10th, respectively.

Next Saturday the Blugolds will host the 2010 WIAC Championship at Whitetail Golf Course in Colfax. The race will kick off at noon.
