(UWECBlugolds.com) - UW-Eau Claire women's cross country member Alyssa Sybilrud (Jr.-Savage, Minn./Burnsville) has been named this week's Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Athlete of the Week, Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Matt Stanek announced today. Sybilrud became the first Blugold ever to win an individual title at the University of Minnesota Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 25. She outpaced the field of 447 runners over the 6,000-meter course with a time of 22:05, which was 11 seconds faster than her nearest competitor. Sybilrud helped lead UW-Eau Claire to a second-place finish out of 30 teams. |
