EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (UWECBlugolds.com) - UW-Eau Claire gymnastics head coach Jean DeLisle has announced the team award winners for the 2009-10 season.

The most valuable performer award was presented to Danielle Schulzetenberg (Fr.-Maple Grove, Minn.). She led the Blugolds with First Team All-American honors at the 2010 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association Championship with a sixth place finish on the balance beam with a 9.450. At the WIAC Championship, Schulzetenberg also led the Blugolds as she took first place on the balance beam and claimed all-conference honors in two other events.

Rachel Behmer (Fr.-Maple Grove, Minn./West Lutheran) was named the team's most improved. Behmer competed in the bars and beam and steadily progressed throughout the season. She represented Eau Claire at nationals on the uneven bars and came away tying for 37th place in the event.

The most spirited award was presented to Kerri Ritsche (Jr.-South Range, Wis./Superior), Lanai Peer (So.-Prior Lake, Minn.) and Alicia Schaub. Ritsche and Peer were also selected as next year's team captains.
