Six dates have been established by UW-Eau Claire athletics for Kid's Night Out.

The six Friday dates are December 10, December 17, January 21, February 18, April 15 and May 6 from 6 to 10 p.m. each night in the McPhee Physical Education Center on campus.

This fun and safe activity is intended for children kindergarten through seventh grade and provides an escape for parents to enjoy a night on the town, shopping, dinner, movie or a quiet evening at home while their son(s) or daughter(s) participates in a variety of activities and games under the direction of Blugold athletics' teams and coaches. Youngsters are encouraged to bring a swim suit. A concession stand is also available for the youngsters.

Among the activities and games are basketball, swimming, relays, obstacle course, fitness area and videos.

The cost is $10 per child per night. Children will not be permitted to leave until picked up by a parent or guardian. A member of the athletics training staff will also be on duty each night. Advance registration is recommended but walk-in reservations will be accepted at the door. A registration form is available on-line at the athletics web site which is www.uwec.edu/athletics.

The proceeds for the Dec. 17 Kid's Night Out will be directed to the families of the victims of the recent hunting shooting in Sawyer County. Bob Crotteau and Joey Crotteau, who were killed in the shooting, were the father and brother of Blugold freshman football player Carter Crotteau. The Dec. 17 date will be handled by the entire Blugold football team.
