PAUL, Minn. - UW-Eau Claire gymnasts Theresa Lynch (Sr. -Vadnais Heights, Minn./White Bear) and Sarah Hulbert (So. -Waukesha, Wis./North) have been selected to compete in this year's National Collegiate Gymnastics Association Championships, scheduled for March 20-21 at Hamline University. Lynch will compete on the uneven bars while Hulbert will participate on the vault. In 2006, Lynch won the national title in the floor exercise while she earned All-American honors in the all-around competition in 2005. In 2007 she was a second team All-American on the balance beam. This year on the uneven bars, Lynch recorded a season-best score of 9.300 last weekend as she finished sixth at the WIAC Championships/NCGA Regionals, which also tied for the 10th best performance on the bars in school history. Hulbert led the Blugolds on the vault at the WIAC Championships/NCGA Regionals last weekend as she tied for 13th place with a score of 9.375. Earlier this season she scored a career-best 9.500 in the event, which was the Blugolds' best score this season and ties for ninth place on the Blugolds' all-time scoring list. Friday the NCGA Championship will begin at 5:30 p.m. while competition is slated to begin at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. - KM - |
