Hunt Arena. The first period ended with neither team on the scoreboard, but at 9:09 in the second period, the Foresters' Melissa Kravich scored the game's first goal. Lake Forest again added another digit to the scoreboard after Kim Herring scored the second goal of the game to give the Foresters the 2-0 lead at the end of the second period. The third period also proved to be a dry spell for the Blugolds as the Foresters' Sam Herron scored at 6:51 and Herring scored her second goal of the night at 14:23 to end the Blugolds season with a 4-0 loss. The Blugolds out-shot the Foresters on the night 28-23, but failed for find the back of the Lake Forest net. Morgan Pieper (Fr.-Williams, Minn./Warroad) defended the Blugold net for 59:57, picking up 19 saves on the night, bringing her season total to 410 saves and moving her record to 8-8-2. Lake Forest's Alyssa Wintermute protected the pipes for the Foresters, picking up her eleventh win of the season and third shutout of the year. The Blugolds end their season with an overall record of 12-11-3, which ties for the third highest amount of wins in school history for the team. The most wins in a season came from the 2004-2005 team, which won 15 games. Eau Claire finishes its year against Lake Forest for the second year in a row after losing to Lake Forest 1-0 in double overtime last year in the NCHA quarterfinals. The Foresters improve to an overall record of 12-13-1. In the all-time series, the Blugolds are 12-14-6 after winning their last battle 4-1 earlier this month.
