The puck is set to drop at 7 p.m. both Friday and Saturday night at Hobbs Ice Center. The Blugolds are 12-8-3 this season while sitting in fourth place in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association with a record of 7-7-2. UW-River Falls currently sits atop the NCHA with a conference record of 13-2-1, with its only two conference losses coming from UW-Superior and UW-Stevens Point earlier this season. The Falcons' hold an overall record of 15-5-3. The Blugolds come into the home-finale after falling at UW-Superior twice last weekend. The Falcons enter Hobbs Ice Center this weekend after beating Finlandia twice last Friday and Saturday. In the all-time series, the Blugolds are 5-23-3 after losing a close 5-3 battle to the Falcons in December. In the 2008-2009 season, Kristin Faber (So.-Austin, Minn.) leads the Blugolds on offensive end with a total of 12 goals, while Lauren Havard (Sr.-San Angelo, Texas/Araphaoe) leads the Blugolds with 13 assists on the year with Faber in second with 12. Goalkeepers Morgan Pieper (Fr.-Williams, Minn./Warroad), Lea Jondal (Fr.-Somerset, Wis./Cretin-Derham Hall) and Danika Porter (So.-Rosemount, Minn./South St. Paul) have a total of 506 saves on the year, with a .904 save percentage and over 1400 minutes played this season. While the Blugolds wrap up the regular season this weekend, post-season is slated to begin next Friday. River Falls has already secured home ice for the NCHA tournament next weekend. The Blugolds will face Lake Forest next Friday in the first round of the playoffs as both teams are guaranteed the fourth and fifth seeds. Eau Claire will remain the fourth seed if it earns two points (a win or two ties) against the Falcons while Lake Forest can earn the fourth seed with two wins at Concordia-Wis. and two Blugold losses to River Falls.
