EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team is preparing to face-off against conference opponent Lake Forest College this Friday and Saturday at Hobbs Ice Center. The Blugolds and Foresters will meet at center ice 7 p.m. on Friday and Senior Night on Saturday.

The 11-5-3 Blugolds are in fourth place in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association with a 6-4-2 record in conference play. UW-Superior currently holds third place with a 7-3-2 record and a one-win lead over Eau Claire. Lake Forest, which is in fifth place in the conference, is riding the .500 mark with an overall record of 9-9-1 overall and 5-6-1 in the NCHA after coming off of a 6-0 loss to conference opponent UW-Superior last Saturday. Eau Claire enters the match-up against the Foresters on the coattails of a 3-1 loss to UW-Stevens Point in Stevens Point and a 3-1 win against Finlandia. In the all-time series, the Blugolds are 11-12-6 against the Foresters after losing 4-3 in overtime earlier this season.

On the season, the Blugold women have three scorers with at least eight goals each. Kristin Faber (So.-Austin, Minn.) leads the Blugolds with 12 goals on the year while Lauren Havard (Sr.-San Angelo, Texas/Araphaoe) and Beth Dittrich (Jr.-Roseville, Minn.) both have eight goals each, giving the three women almost half of the teams goals this season. Goalkeepers Morgan Pieper (Fr.-Williams, Minn./Warroad), Lea Jondal (Fr.-Somerset, Wis./Cretin-Derham Hall) and Danika Porter (So.-Rosemount, Minn./South St. Paul) racked up a total of 418 saves on the year while only allowing 44 goals this season between the pipes for the Blugolds.
