Please include a source of proof (newspaper, yearbook, etc.) to support your claim. ![]() Tue, Feb 18, 2025 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Hockey Gearing Up For A Home Stand Against Stevens Point Posted: Thursday, January 15, 2009 EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team will play host to Northern Collegiate Hockey Association rival UW-Stevens Point this Friday and Saturday at Hobbs Ice Center. The Pointers and the Blugolds will face off at center ice at 7 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. on Saturday. The 9-3-2 Blugolds are tied for third place in the NCHA with a 4-2-0 record in conference play. Eau Claire is tied with Superior, which holds a 4-1-1 record in the conference. Stevens Point, which is in second place in the conference, is currently 7-1-3 overall and 6-1-1 in the NCHA after coming off of a 2-2 tie with Gustavus Adolphus College on Tuesday. Eau Claire is entering the match-up against the Pointers on a three-game winning streak after defeating Hamline, UW-Superior and Finlandia. In the all-time series, the Blugolds are 2-26-1 against the Pointers. Since the New Year, the Blugold women have had eight different scorers throughout their three games. Margaret Campbell (Sr.-Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) leads the Blugolds in 2009 with three goals, with Kristin Faber (So.-Austin, Minn.), Jackie McKay (Fr.-Franklin Park, Ill./East Leyden), and Lauren Havard (Sr.-San Angelo, Texas/Araphaoe), all scoring two goals each. Goalkeepers Morgan Pieper (Fr.-Williams, Minn./Warroad), and Danika Porter (So.-Rosemount, Minn./South St. Paul) are both undefeated in 2009 with Porter picking up 22 saves and Pieper picking up 38 saves. - MT - |
