Sun, Dec 8, 2024 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Gymnastics Takes Third At Air Force Triangular Posted: Friday, January 9, 2009 COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team took third place out of three teams in their first meet of the season today at the U.S. Air Force Academy Triangular. Air Force won their meet with a score of 188.125, while UW-La Crosse finished second with 183.850 and the Blugolds took third with 171.500. Samantha Howard (Jr.-St. Paul, Minn./Henry Sibley) was the highest finisher in a single event for the Blugolds this evening, with an eighth place spot in the floor exercise. She finished with a career-best 9.275 while Abbey Rogers from Air Force took first with a 9.775. Howard was also the highest Blugold finisher in the vault, finishing 12th with a 9.225, also a career-best. Anna Sutherland (Sr.-Arden Hills, Minn./Roseville) also came away with an eighth place finish in the all-around and Kerri Ritsche (So.-South Range, Wis./Superior) took ninth place in the all-around as well. Sutherland finished with a 35.100 and Ritsche recorded a 31.775. Up next Eau Claire will host its annual UW-Eau Claire Invite. The event is scheduled for next Friday at 6:30 p.m. La Crosse and Stout will be the other teams at the meet. - KM - |
