Women's Hockey Set For Two Home Games

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team will be at home twice this weekend, facing UW-Superior on Friday and Finlandia University on Saturday. Both games are set for 7 p.m. at Hobbs Ice Center.

The Blugolds enter the weekend with a 7-3-2 overall record and a 2-2-1 record in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association. Superior is ranked 10th in NCAA Division III and holds a 3-0-1 conference record and a 7-3-1 season record. Finlandia has yet to win a game this season and holds a 0-11 overall and a 0-6 conference record. Superior is currently tied for third in the NCHA while the Blugolds are fifth and Finlandia is in last place.

The Blugolds are led this season by Kristin Faber (So.-Austin, Minn.). She has seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points. Three different goalies have seen significant playing time with Morgan Pieper (Fr.-Williams, Minn./Warroad) leading the way. She has almost 400 minutes between the pipes and has a 2.14 goals against average and a .911 save percentage.

Jodi Holland leads the way for the Yellowjackets with 10 goals and four assists for 14 points. Shana Katz also has 11 points on the season, with seven goals and four assists. Two goalies have split time in the net. Melissa Kunzelman is leading Superior with a 1.78 goals against average and a .940 save percentage, though she has almost 60 fewer minutes of playing time than Rikkie Nespor.

Finlandia is led by Katelyn McLean, who has eight points from six goals and two assists. Annika Danielson leads the Lions with a 5.50 goals against average and a .858 save percentage.
