Please include a source of proof (newspaper, yearbook, etc.) to support your claim. ![]() Tue, Feb 18, 2025 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Hockey Falls To Lake Forest In Overtime Posted: Saturday, December 6, 2008 LAKE FOREST, Ill. - In their sixth overtime game of the season, the UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team lost a close one 4-3 against conference opponent Lake Forest College (Ill.) today at the Alumni Memorial Rink. The Blugolds, who are now 2-2-2 in their overtime games this season, are 6-2-2 overall and 2-1-1 in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play. Lake Forest now sits at 5-4-1 this year and 3-3-1 in the NCHA. In the first period, Eau Claire fell behind after an even-strength goal at 10:20 by Lake Forest's Melissa Kravich to give the Foresters the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Lake Forest struck again off of a power-play at 7:01 to give the Foresters a 2-0 lead. Eau Claire answered less than a minute later with Maddi Hammer (So.-Owatonna, Minn.) getting the Blugolds on the board with an even-strength goal at 8:24 with the assist from Lauren Havard (Sr.-San Angelo, Texas/Araphaoe) to make the game 2-1. Lake Forest seemed to like a two goal lead though, with its second power-play goal of the night coming at 9:29. The third period proved to be the Blugolds time to shine as they shut out the Foresters in the period. Jackie McKay (Fr.-Franklin Park, Ill./East Leyden) brought the game one goal closer after scoring a power-play goal with the assist from Havard at 6:09. Less than a minute later at 6:54, Hammer scored the even strength equalizer with the assist from Margaret Campbell (Sr.-Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata) to send the game into overtime with the score at 3-3. The Blugolds had the momentum coming into overtime, but the Foresters' Molly Wallner ended the game with an even-strength goal at 3:43 to hand the Blugolds their second loss of the season. Eau Claire outshot Lake Forest today 38-28. Morgan Pieper (Fr.-Williams, Minn./Warroad) played 63:43 minutes in-goal for Eau Claire and recorded 24 saves, while Lake Forest's Alyssa Wintermute also played the entire game, stopping 35 shots.
