PAUL, Minn. - UW-Eau Claire women's hockey forward Kristin Faber (So. -Austin, Minn.) has been named this week's Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) Player of the Week, conference sports information director Brian Monahan announced today. Faber scored a pair of goals and assisted on another in the Blugolds 3-2 overtime victory last Friday night against visiting Concordia-Wisconsin. She assisted on the tying goal at 14:28 of the third period - scored by Toni Simones (Fr.-Rosemount, Minn./South St. Paul) - then lit the lamp in OT with just 12 seconds remaining. On Saturday night Faber peppered CUW goalie Katie Hirsch with 10 shots, adding to the UWEC total of 44 on the game. The teams skated to a 3-3 tie. - KM - |
