EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team is gearing up for a double header against Concordia University this weekend at Hobbs Ice Center.

Although they are not ranked in the USCHO Division III Women's Rankings, the 3-1 Blugold women currently have the most wins in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association. The Blugolds first matchup against a NCHA opponent will be against Concordia University this weekend. Concordia remains winless on the road this season while the Blugolds remain unbeaten at home. In the all-time series against Concordia, the Blugolds are 3-0 against the Falcons outscoring them 9-3 overall.

Eau Claire started the season well with a 3-1 home opening win against Bethel University. The Blugolds then followed with a similar 3-1 home victory against the St. Mary's Cardinals to start the season 2-0. St. Mary's wasn't down for the count however, beating the Blugolds 5-4 the following week in overtime. The Blugolds didn't let that get to them though, coming back to beat Bethel 3-2 in overtime.

Concordia hasn't had the best start in the world for its current season. The Falcons lost their first two games on the road against Hamline University 8-1 and 3-2. When the Falcons brought it back home however, they notched a 7-5 victory against St. Olaf, their first win ever in program history.

This weekend's conference games will be held Friday and Saturday with the puck set to drop at 7 p.m. on both nights in Hobbs Ice Center.
