Thu, Jan 16, 2025 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Tennis Falls To St. Scholastica Posted: Sunday, April 6, 2008 DULUTH, Minn. - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team was defeated 7-2 by St. Scholastica College (Minn.) on Sunday. The defeat is the Blugolds third in their last four matches. The Blugolds two wins came in singles competition. Sarah Riordan (Sr.-Appleton, WI/North) won her number one singles match 6-2, 6-4 to notch the first of the two Blugold victories. The second victory came off the racket of Kristie Carlson (Sr.-Arden Hills, MN/Mounds View). Carlson had to go to a tie breaker before she took her number three singles match by a score of 5-7, 6-3, 10-8. The Blugolds lost all three matches in doubles play. Riordan and Gina Dahl (So.-Fort Atkinson, WI) fell in the number one spot 8-6. In the number two spot, Carlson and Erin Welch (So.-Tomah, WI) were trounced 8-2. In the number three spot, Kirsten Marciniak (Fr.-Ham Lake, MN/Blaine) and Michelle Reinders (Fr.-Hartland, WI/Arrowhead) were defeated 8-5. The Blugolds will look to get back on the winning track when they take the court next Saturday for a pair of matches.
