Thu, Jan 23, 2025 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Tennis Falls Twice On Last Day In Orlando Posted: Tuesday, March 18, 2008 ORLANDO, Fla. - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team faced Trinity College (Conn.) and William Smith College (N.Y.) in the last day of the three-day spring break trip, but lost 2-7 and 3-6. Eau Claire went 2-3 over the trip with wins over Franklin Marshall College (Pa.) and Illinois Wesleyan University. Connecticut College was the other team to beat the Blugolds. Eau Claire had a win in both doubles and singles during the match against Trinity. Kristie Carlson (Sr.-Arden Hills, Minn./Mounds View) and Erin Welch (So.-Tomah) picked up the 8-6 victory at No. 2 doubles while Welch pulled off the 6-1, 1-6, 11-9 win in No. 4 singles. The same duo picked up a doubles win versus William Smith. The score was 8-4 this time. Carlson and Welch were the two singles winners, with Carlson winning 6-4, 6-3 at No. 3 singles and Welch triumphing 6-2, 7-5.
