Sun, Dec 8, 2024 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Gymnasts Take Second At La Crosse Triangular Posted: Friday, February 29, 2008 LA CROSSE, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team scored its second highest point total of the season, taking second out of three teams at the UW-La Crosse Triangular tonight. La Crosse won the meet with 183.975 points, while Eau Claire scored 176.325. Gustavus Adolphus College took last place with 174.825 points. Anna Sutherland (Jr.-Arden Hills, MN/Roseville) took the highest spot of any Blugold tonight, finishing in second place on the vault with a 9.475, her second highest score of the season in the event. Sutherland also finished fourth in the all-around with a seventh place finish on the floor with a season-best 9.150, a 16th place finish on the uneven bars and an 18th place finish on the balance beam. Angie Cich (Sr.-Plymouth, MN/Armstrong) also finished right behind Sutherland on the vault, in third place with a career-best 9.425. The highest finisher of the night on the bars was Brittany Adams (Sr.-Maple Grove, Minn.), who scored a career-best 9.250, tying for second place. Kristi Olson (Sr.-Minnetonka, Minn.) finished two places behind her, taking fifth place with a season-best 9.175, also the second best score of her career. Olson also took third in the all-around with a 35.450. Kerri Ritsche (Fr.-South Range, WI/Superior) was the highest finisher for the Blugolds on the balance beam tonight with a career-best 8.800 and took fifth place overall. La Crosse's Mackenzie Howard took the top spot in the event. Lauren Strecker (Fr.-Little Canada, Minn./Roseville) finished in fifth place on the floor exercise with a career-best score of 9.250. La Crosse's Gabi Hooper finished in first on the floor with a 9.550. Up next the Blugolds will travel to St. Paul, Minnesota for the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship/National Collegiate Gymnastics Association Regional.
