Sun, Dec 8, 2024 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Gymnastics Takes Fourth At Cal state Fullerton Meet Posted: Sunday, January 20, 2008 FULLERTON, Calif. - The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team took last place at a meet today at California State University, Fullerton that featured three NCAA Division I teams. The Blugolds scored 176.525 for their fourth place finish. UCLA, which is ranked 10th in the latest GymInfo national poll, took first with 196.125 points. Cal State Fullerton scored 191.025 for a second place finish, while Brown University took third with 183.025 points. Anna Sutherland (Jr.-Arden Hills, Minn./Roseville) was the top Blugold finisher tonight, taking eighth place in the all-around behind performances of 16th place on the vault, 19th on the uneven bars and floor exercise and 20th on the balance beam. She finished with an all-around score of 35.275. Kristi Olson (Sr.-Minnetonka, Minn.) finished the highest on a single event for the Blugolds with a 13th place finish on the balance beam with a score of 9.300. Olson was also 18th on the vault with a score of 9.175 and 17th on the uneven bars, scoring a 8.600. Brittany Adams (Sr.-Maple Grove, Minn.) scored an 8.875 on the balance beam for a 16th place finish and also took 15th place on the uneven bars with a score of 8.725. She also scored an 8.850 on the floor exercise for a 22nd place finish. In the floor exercise, freshman Lauren Strecker (Little Canada, Minn./Roseville) was the top Blugold finisher with a score of 9.200 for a 17th place finish. Strecker also competed on the uneven bars and took 16th with a score of 8.650. Up next the Blugolds will travel to Menomonie to take on UW-Stout and Gustavus Adolphus.
