Thu, Jan 16, 2025 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Womens Tennis Beats River Falls 7-2 Posted: Tuesday, October 2, 2007 EAU CLAIRE, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team won 7-2 over UW-River Falls at the indoor courts in McPhee in Eau Claire today. The Blugolds are now 13-3 overall, with a 7-2 dual meet record, and are 4-0 in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletics Conference dual meet play. In doubles, the No. 1 team of Gina Dahl (So.- Fort Atkinson) and Sarah Riordan (Sr.- Appleton/North) lost 8-2. The No. 2 team of Kristie Carlson (Sr.- Arden Hills, MN/Mounds View) and Brenna McCormick (So.- Greendale) won with an 8-2 decision. The No. 3 duo of Liz Deprey (Sr.- Green Bay/Notre Dame) and Erin Welch (So.- Tomah, WI) won 8-1. The Blugolds played well in singles, losing only one match today. Riordan lost to River Fall's Matsonzato in No. 1 singles with scores of 2-6 and 2-6. In No. 2 singles, Dahl won with scores of 6-1 and 6-4, while Carlson won with scores of 6-0 and 6-1 in No. 3 play. In the No. 4 spot, McCormick won with scores of 6-4 and 6-2, and Welch won with scores of 1-6, 6-1, 14-12. In No. 6 singles, Deprey defeated her opponent 6-4 and 6-0, and Courtney Lynne (So.- Rochester, MN/Mayo) won in No. 7 play 6-2.
