Women's Tennis Falls To Division I UW-Green Bay

GREEN BAY, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team lost Saturday to Division I opponent UW-Green Bay 6-1 but played well in doubles competition.

The three doubles teams won two out of the three matches played. Gina Dahl (So.-Fort Atkinson, WI) and Sarah Riordan (Sr.-Appleton, WI /North) got an 8-6 victory in the No. 1 flight. The No. 2 flight of Kristie Carlson (Sr.-Arden Hills, MN/Mounds View) and Brenna McCormick (So.-Greendale, WI) won by a score of 8-6 as well. However, the No. 3 duo of Liz Deprey (Sr.-Green Bay, WI /Notre Dame) and Erin Welch (So.-Tomah, WI) lost by a score of 6-8.

In singles, however, the Blugolds were unable to win a match. Dahl, who made it to a super tie breaker after winning the second set in the No. 2 flight 7-5, was the only Blugold to win a set.

The Blugolds will be back in action this Thursday when the host conference rival UW-Stout. The meet is set for 3:30 p.m.
