Thu, Jan 16, 2025 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Tennis Beats Stevens Point Posted: Friday, September 14, 2007 STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The UW-Eau Claire women's tennis team moves to 9-2 overall with a win yesterday over UW-Stevens Point. In doubles, Gina Dahl (So.-Fort Atkinson) and Sarah Riordan (Sr.-Appleton/North) got the 8-1 victory at No. 1 play. The No. 2 team of Kristie Carlson (Sr.-Arden Hills, MN/Mounds View) and Brenna McCormick (So.-Greendale) won with an 8-4 decision. The No. 3 duo of Liz Deprey (Sr.-Green Bay/Notre Dame) and Erin Welch (So.-Tomah, WI) also worked their way to a win. The Blugolds were just as strong in singles play winning four out of six matches. Riordan lost in No. 1 singles with 6-2, 6-7, 10-7 scores. While Dahl and Carlson won in No. 2 and No. 3 singles with the scores of 6-1, 6-0. McCormick won in No. 4 singles with 6-0, 6-1 scores. In No. 5 singles Welch won with 7-5, 2-6, 3-10 scores. Courtney Lynne (So.-Rochester, MN/Mayo) lost in No. 6 play with 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) scores in the closest match of the afternoon.
