Please include a source of proof (newspaper, yearbook, etc.) to support your claim. ![]() Thu, Mar 20, 2025 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Wrestling To Host 29th Annual UW-Eau Claire Invite Posted: Thursday, February 1, 2007 EAU CLAIRE - Four of the top five teams in Division III will compete this Saturday when the UW-Eau Claire wrestling team hosts the 29th annual UW-Eau Claire Wrestling Invitational at the McPhee Physical Education Center. A total of 11 teams will compete in the invite. Along with the 28th-ranked Blugolds, conference foes UW-Oshkosh, 21st-ranked UW-Stevens Point, and No. 3-ranked UW-La Crosse will compete. No.1-ranked Augsburg College (MN), No.2-ranked Wartburg College (IA), and No.5-ranked Luther College (IA) will all be in action. St. Olaf College (MN), North Central College (IL), Lakeland College, and UW-Parkside will also compete. Last year Augsburg won of the invite with 138.5 points. North Central finished second and Stevens Point placed third. The Blugolds finished fourth. Current Blugolds that placed last year were Joey Miller (Jr.-Lake Tomahawk, WI/Lakeland Union) who placed third in his weight class, Justin Mc Auly (Sr.-Clintonville, WI) who finished fourth and Nick Hoeft (Jr.-Merrill, WI) who also finished fourth. There will be a No.1-ranked wrestler in each weight class competing: Nate Hansen of Luther at 125 pounds, Jafari Vanier of Augsburg at 133 pounds, Quincy Osborn of Augsburg at 141 pounds, Jacob Larsen of La Crosse at 149 pounds, Jeremy Anderson of Augsburg at 157 pounds, Marcus LeVesseur of Augsburg at 165 pounds, Josh Chelf of La Crosse at 174 pounds, Jason Lulloff of La Crosse at 184 pounds, Jim Swanson of La Crosse at 197 pounds, and Blake Gillis of Wartburg at heavyweight. The action begins at 9 a.m. Saturday morning in the McPhee Physical Education Center. Finals and consolation finals should begin around 4:30 p.m. - JR - |
