The Blugolds, who are ranked 28th in the current Brute/Adidas National Wrestling Coaches Association Division III poll, fall to 4-1 in the WIAC and 11-5 overall in dual meets. The Eagles improve to 5-1 in the conference and 13-1 in overall dual meets. Their only loss came earlier this season at UW-Platteville. There were only three Blugolds that picked up victories tonight. Dave Vanevenhoven (Sr.-Appleton, WI/Kaukauna) at 149 pounds won by major decision, 17-3 over Eric Seppelt. Nick Hoeft (Jr.-Merrill, WI) at 184 pounds won by decision, 5-3 over Brenden Faust. Finally, Josh Holforty (So.-Bloomington, MN/Kennedy) at 197 pounds won his ninth match in a row with an 8-3 decision over Josh Passe. La Crosse's Josh Chelf, who is ranked No.1 in the division III at 174 pounds, defeated Joey Miller (Jr.-Lake Tomahawk, WI/Lakeland Union) by pin fall at 2:04. Ross Needham at 157 pounds and Scott Dorn at 165 pounds are both ranked second in their individual weight classes and both won by major decision.
