Please include a source of proof (newspaper, yearbook, etc.) to support your claim. ![]() Tue, Feb 11, 2025 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Hockey Blasts Past St. Olaf Posted: Sunday, January 7, 2007 NORTHFIELD, MN - The UW-Eau Claire women's hockey team scored the first five goals of the game as the Blugolds rolled past St. Olaf 6-1 here today at the Northfield Ice Arena. The Blugolds have won two of three games since the first of the year and ended the Oles' six-game unbeaten streak. The Blugolds improve to 5-7-1 on the season while the Oles fall to 5-3-1. Karen Hebert (Sr.-Lakeville, MN/Holy Angels) started the Blugold scoring spree with an even strength goal at 2:49 of the first period assisted by Laura Suppes (Sr.-Roseville, MN) and Kelly Ivey (Jr.-Apple Valley, MN). Later in the first period at 13:10 Beth Dittrich (Fr.-Roseville, MN) scored a power play goal assisted by Tara Hayner (Sr.-Stillwater, MN) and Lauren Havard (So.-San Angelo, TX/Arapahoe) to increase the lead to 2-0. The Blugolds started scoring early in the second period at Martina Korinek (Sr.-White Bear Lake, MN) hit the back of the net assisted by Dittrich just 55 seconds into the period. Amanda Alioto (Fr.-Hartland/Arrowhead) added to the lead with a goal at 18:32 assisted by Amber Stevenson (Sr.-Eagan, MN) and Allie Campbell (Sr.-Plymouth, MN/Wayzata) extending the lead to 4-0. The scoring run continued for the Blugolds as Hayner scored at 7:49 of the third period assisted by Stevenson and Theresa Guindon (Jr.-Lino Lakes, MN/Centennial) giving Eau Claire a 5-0 lead. After the Oles scored their lone goal of the game Stevenson answered the St. Olaf goal with her first goal of the game at 19:42 of the third period assisted by Alioto to close out the game and seal the 6-1 victory. Mikaela Jobman (Fr.-St. Paul, MN/Cretin Derham Hall) saved 26-of-27 shots faced in 60 minutes of play, including 13 saves in the first period alone. The only goal allowed on Jobman came off an Ole power play. The six goals scored by the Blugolds are the most by an Eau Claire team since a 7-0 victory at home versus St. Catherine on February 3, 2006. Six different Blugolds scored a goal while nine different players assisted on goals. Up next the Blugolds will kick off a four-game homestand starting against St. Mary's (MN) on Friday, January 12.
