Eau Claire is now 2-0 in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) dual meets. The Blugolds are 7-2 in all dual meets. It was the first dual meet for the Vikings. The Blugolds had three pins on the night. Andy Miller (So.-Appleton/North) got his man down in 5:50 at the 133 pound weight class. At 141 pounds, it took Andy Johnston (Fr.-St. Cloud, MN/St. Cloud Tech) 4:20 to pin his man while Josh Holforty (So.-Bloomington, MN/Kennedy) took down his 197-pound opponent in 3:44. Pat Senzig (So.-Lyndon Station/Mauston) claimed the only major decision for Eau Claire, a 12-3 final at 157 pounds. There were four minor decisions for Eau Claire in the match. Dave Vanevenhoven (Sr.-Appleton/Kaukauna) won 7-1 at 149 pounds. Lance Valiquette (Sr.-Auburn, WA) took his match 9-4 in the 165 pound class and Nick Hoeft (Jr.-Merrill) squeaked by 2-0 at 184 pounds. Heavyweight Justin McAuly (Sr.-Clintonville) also won 5-0 to push Eau Claire to 34 points.
