Sat, Jan 25, 2025 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Blugold Intrasquad Scrimmage At 10 Am Saturday Posted: Friday, August 27, 2004 Eau Claire - A Blue vs. Gold intrasquad scrimmage Saturday will cap off the first two weeks of practice for the UW-Eau Claire football team, head coach Todd Hoffner has announced. Hoffner, beginning his sixth season as the head coach, will send his No. 1 offense against the No. 2 defense and the No. 2 offense against the No. 1 defense during the two-hour scrimmage that will begin at 10 a.m. The scrimmage will take place on Simpson Field behind the McPhee Physical Education Center on the university's upper campus and the public is welcome to attend. Hoffner indicated Blugold apparel will be available at the scrimmage. Hoffner is still working with 111 prospects, down slightly from the 125 that reported on Aug. 14 when preseason camp opened. The Blugolds are preparing for their season opener Sept. 4 against defending NCAA Division III national champion St. John's University. The game has been moved from Eau Claire to Collegeville, Minnesota because the artificial turf project at Eau Claire's Carson Park will not be completed in time for the game. Kickoff will take place at 3 p.m. at the Johnnies' Clemens Field. Gates will open at noon that day, according to St. John's officials. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for students. |
