Wed, Dec 4, 2024 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Gymnastics Picks Up Victory In Last Home Dual Meet Posted: Friday, February 10, 2006 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team defeated UW-Oshkosh tonight by a score of 175.975-171.550 in the team's last home meet of the season. The victory improves the Blugolds to 5-6 overall and 2-1 in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) dual meets. The loss drops the Titans to 2-4 in dual meets this season. For the fourth time this season and in her last home meet as a Blugold, Lynn Morris (Sr.-Monticello, IN/Twin Lakes) finished first in the all-around with a score of 36.450. This was her second highest all-around score of the season. Morris won the vault competition with a score of 9.275 and finished second in all of the other events, with a season-best score of 9.275 in the floor exercise. The Blugolds took the top six spots in the floor exercise Theresa Lynch (So.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear) finished second in the all-around with a score of 35.025. She finished first in the floor exercise with a season-best score of 9.400. Angie Cich (So.-Plymouth, MN/Armstrong) finished third for the Blugolds in all-around with a score of 33.775. The only other Blugold winner was Melanie Nichols (Sr.-Galesville, WI/G-E-T), who was also competing in her home meet as a Blugold. She finished first in the balance beam with a score of 8.750. Along with Nichols and Morris, two other Blugolds were competing in their final home meet of their college careers, Chelsey Brickweg (Sr.-Alexandria, MN/Jefferson) and Jenni Wick (Sr.-Sartell, MN). Brickweg finished third in the balance beam with a score of 8.675 and Wick finished fifth with a score of 8.625. The only Titan-winner was Kelly Busacker in the uneven parallel bars with a score of 9.350.
