Sun, Dec 8, 2024 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Gymnastics Set To Host Triangular Meet Posted: Thursday, January 12, 2006 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire gymnastics team will host Hamline University and UW-Whitewater Saturday morning in the McPhee Physical Education Center. The meet was originally supposed to be an invite which included Gustavus Adolphus, but due to the availability of judges the meet had to be moved up in time from 1 p.m. to 11 a.m. Because of this Gustavus will be unable to attend. The theme of the meet will be the "cereal bowl" The Blugolds won their opening meet of the season defeating I-94 rival UW-Stout 168.525-162.95 last Friday. The Blugolds Lynn Morris (Sr.-Monticello, IN/Twin Lakes) finished first in the uneven parallel bars and balance beam and had the top all-around score of the meet with a score of 34.975. Theresa Lynch (So.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear) also finished first for the Blugolds in the floor exercise with a score of 9.15. Hamline lost its season opener on Friday, losing to UW-Oshkosh 169.325-167.475. Hamline's Kayla Sirmans had an all-around score of 33.175 and had the highest score for of the night in the vault with a 9.125. UW-Whitewater was narrowly defeated by Gustavus Adolphus in their season opener 168.50-168.35. Tracy Cummings captured the all-around title for the Warhawks with a score of 34.20. The "cereal bowl" gets underway at 11 a.m. Saturday morning in the McPhee Physical Education Center. - JR - |
