Tue, Oct 15, 2024 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Blugold Hall of Fame Judy Kruckman Kruckman, who served as women's athletic director at Eau Claire from 1974 to 1984, will be honored in the Hall's Coach and Service Category. In 1984, Kruckman left UW-EC to become acting director of the Wisconsin Women's Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WWIAC) in Madison. In 1985, she was appointed commissioner of the WWIAC, the position she currently holds. She served as president of the WWIAC from 1974 to 1976 and chaired the conference Ethics Committee from 1977 to 1978. At Eau Claire, Kruckman served as instructor in the physical education department from 1966 to 1984. She was the Eau Claire women's swim coach from 1969 to 1977 and women's tennis coach from 1970 to 1974 when women's athletics belonged to the Association of Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AlAW). Kruckman was athletic director when the Blugold women won the National Associaton of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-Sports Championship in 1983, their first year as an NAIA member. She also served as a member of the NAIA District 14 Executive Committee from 1982 to 1985. A Burlington, Wis. native, Kruckman graduated from Eau Claire Memorial High School in 1959 and received her bachelor's degree from UW-EC in 1964 with a history major and physical education minor. She taught in the Mondovi school system before going to graduate school at UWM-adison and receiving her master's degree in physical education in 1966. |
