For the week, she finished with eight shots, three of which were on-goal in three games.

Defense: Richelle Shannon, Midfielder, 5-3, Senior, Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial
Shannon was the key and the cog in the wheel of the Blugolds' defense by playing every minute in the Blugolds' back-to-back road matches over the weekend. She was part of a defense that held opponents to 27 shots in three contests while the Blugolds finished with 84.

September 20, 2010-September 26, 2010

Offense: Rachel Nerison, Forward, 5-5, Junior, Maple Grove, Minn.

Eau Claire shutout UW-Oshkosh 1-0 to open WIAC play Saturday and recorded a 4-1 win over the College of St. Benedict (Minn.) on Sunday. Also Selected Conference Player of the Week

September 6, 2010-September 12, 2010

Offense: Rachel Nerison, Forward, 5-5, Junior, Maple Grove, Minn.
Nerison played a starring role by slotting in the sole and game winning goal as the Blugolds took to the road and toppled the 10th-ranked Cobbers of Concordia-Moorhead. In the process, Nerison and the Blugolds snapped the Cobbers 20-game regular season winning streak which dates back to 2008. All four of Nerison's shots were on target/goal.
Also Selected Conference Player of the Week

Defense: Amanda Hakala, Goalkeeper, 5-10, Sophomore, Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater Area
Hakala's play between the posts was the lynchpin in a stingy Blugolds defense which conceded only four shots on goal against the No. 10 nationally ranked Cobbers of Concordia-Moorhead. Hakala saved all four shots and, in the process, propelled the Blugolds to a shutout victory against a Cobber team that had not been shutout in the regular season since the final regular season match of their 2008 season.

August 30, 2010-September 5, 2010

Offense: Paige LeGate, Forward, 5-5, Freshman, Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port
LeGate's play has been immensely influential on the Blugolds' offensive side of the ball at the start of the 2010 season. In her first collegiate match, LeGate sliced through St. Olaf's midfield to set up the Blugolds' first goal of the season. Against the No. 2 nationally ranked Washington University (Mo.), Paige continued her speedy, inventive play by posting three shots to tie a game-high.

Defense: Megan Hillesheim, Defender, 5-9, Senior, Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine
Hillesheim's leadership and stellar play was critical in marshalling the Blugolds' defense to a shutout opening-day victory over St. Olaf College. Although the Blugolds lost the next two matches, Megan's leadership and tough, outstanding play limited both Calvin College (Mich.) and Washington University (Mo.), who are nationally ranked 15th and second, respectively, to one goal apiece.
