Shannon Nelson, 5-2, Forward, Freshman, Blaine, Minn.
Helping the Blugolds to a fourth place finish in the NCHA this year, Nelson played strong both Friday and Saturday this week. While the Blugolds split games to River Falls, losing one 4-2 on Friday and winning the other 3-2 on Saturday, the win allowed the Blugolds to take fourth place overall in the conference, their highest finish since the 2004-05 season. While Nelson did not have any goals or assists, she played very well all-around to help the Blugolds create scoring opportunities.
Margaret Campbell, 5-6, Forward, Junior, Plymouth, Minn./Wayzata
The Blugolds split wins this weekend, dropping one 4-2 on Friday and taking one 3-2 on Saturday. The Blugolds finished fourth in the NCHA after this weekend's win and will be the No. 4 seed in the playoffs. The last time the Blugolds finished in fourth was for the 2004-05 season. Campbell tabulated two goals and one assist this weekend. She was the only one to score on Friday for the Blugolds, picking up one power play and one even-strength goal, bringing her season goal total to seven. On Saturday she helped on the game-winning goal, scoring her ninth assist of the season.

Kristin Faber, 5-8, Forward, Freshman, Austin, Minn.
While the Blugolds came up short twice this weekend to No. 8 UW-Superior, Faber played well this weekend. In the Blugolds' 4-2 loss to Superior on Saturday, Faber scored the Blguolds' first goal. She scored the even-strength goal at 10:45 in the first. Faber leads the team this season with 18 points on 11 goals and seven assists.

Kelli Johnson, 5-3, Defenseman, Freshman, Farmington, Minn.
The Blugolds split this weekend, dropping one 3-2 to Lake Forest on Friday and picking up a 5-2 win over Lake Forest on Saturday. Johnson played great defense in both games and also picked up two assists. On Friday, Johnson picked up an assist on the Blugolds final goal of the game and also assisted on the Blugolds fourth goal on Saturday. She also helped hold Lake Forest to 25 shots on Friday while Eau Claire had 31. Johnson now has three assists on the season.

Meghan Lorenz, 5-7, Forward, Freshman, Minnetonka, Minn./Wayzata
Playing No. 3 UW-Stevens Point, the Blugolds were defeated 6-1 on Friday. Although the Blugolds were only able to find the net once, Lorenz played the most consistent for the Blugolds. She was able to break things up to allow the Blugolds to get some opportunities and also had some good attempts on the net herself. On the season, Lorenz has three goals and four assists.

Kristin Faber, Forward, 5-8, Freshman, Austin, Minn.
The Blugolds picked up two NCHA victories this weekend, defeating Finlandia 7-1 on Friday and 2-0 on Saturday. On Friday Faber came up for the Blugolds in a big way, scoring the first hat-trick of her career. Only five others in program history have had a hat-trick. Two of her three goals came during short-handed play and the other was on a power play. Her two short-handed goals, the first of which was a game-winning goal, ties an NCAA Division III record with three other individuals for most in a game. As a team, the Blugolds scored three short-handed goals which also ties an NCAA Division III record. Faber now leads the team with 13 points on eight goals and five assists, and is tied for first in the conference with four game-winning goals and three short-handed goals.

Danica Porter, 5-5, Freshman, Goalie, Rosemount, Minn./South St. Paul.
While the Blugolds suffered a pair of 3-1 setbacks against nationally-ranked (No. 3) Stevens Point, the bright spot for head coach Mike Collins was the goaltending of Danika Porter who kept the Blugolds in both contests. She stopped 34 of 37 shots the first night and 22 of 25 the second night when the Pointers scored all three of their goals on power plays. For the season, she has a 1.88 goals against average and a .912 saves percentage.

Michelle Stohr, Defenseman, 5-5, Sophomore, South St. Paul, Minn.
Getting back to action in 2008, the Blugolds split this weekend, losing 6-0 to No. 9 Superior on Friday and taking a 4-0 victory in Finlandia on Saturday. In Eau Claire's win on Saturday, Stohr scored the Blugolds final goal of the game and also added an assist in the Blugolds' last goal of the first period. Stohr now has six points for the Blugolds this weekend with three goals and three assists.

Lindsay Savat, Freshman, Goalie, 5-4, Apple Valley, Minn./Thomas Jefferson
The Blugolds faced River Falls this weekend at home but were handed a 0-1 loss, the first conference loss of the season for the Blugolds. The loss sends the Blugolds to 7-5-0 overall and 4-1-0 in the NCHA. While the Blugolds were outplayed and outshot 10-1 in the first period, they were able to play much better in the following periods and outshot the Falcons 10-2 in the second and 6-5 in the third. Although Savat allowed one goal in the first period, she stopped 16 other shots, including nine in the first period. Savat has now played almost 300 minutes in goal this season and has a save percentage of .927.

Beth Dittrich, Sophomore, 5-7, Forward, Roseville, Minn.
Scored one goal in each game as the Blugolds won two NCHA contests to remain unbeaten in league play. Came into the weekend with just four points for the season but doubled that total. Had one goal and two assists in the 4-2 triumph over Lake Forest after getting one goal in the 6-2 victory over Concordia.

Kristin Faber, Forward, 5-8, Freshman, Austin, Minn.
Although the Blugolds lost twice this weekend by scores of 2-4 to Adrian College, a team that received votes in the most recent USCHO.com poll, Faber was a bright spot on the team. In the game on Saturday, Faber assisted on the game's first goal. She also played an important role in both games as she was able to put pressure on Adrian's defense to help create other scoring opportunities for the Blugolds. Faber is now second on the team in points with two goals and three assists this season.

The Blugolds opened conference play this weekend, and found themselves on the winning end twice, defeating Concordia (Wis.) on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, the Blugolds tallied a shutout win of 1-0 on a goal in the third period. As a team, the Blugolds outshot Concordia 42-15. On Saturday, the Blugolds had an even stronger performance, winning 2-1 and outshooting the Falcons 59-13. Faber played an important role in the victory Saturday, assisting on the game winning goal by Christine Dickinson. The assist was Faber's first of the season.

Maddi Hammer, Freshman, Defenseman, 5-7, Owatonna, Minn.
In two games this weekend, the Blugolds went 1-1, losing 3-1 on Friday against St. Thomas and winning 4-0 on Saturday against St. Mary's. Hammer helped the Blugolds limit the number of shots taken by both teams, allowing the Blugolds to outshoot their opponents both games. On Friday, Hammer and the defense held St. Thomas to 23 shots, while the Blugolds took 37. On Saturday, St. Mary's was held to 13 shots and the Blugolds had 33. Hammer also scored her second goal of the season, scoring in the third period on Saturday.

Beth Dittrich, Forward, 5-7, Sophomore, Roseville, Minn
The Blugolds opened their season this weekend, going 1-1 with a loss on Friday and a win on Saturday. In the Blugolds' 2-1 loss to Bethel on Friday, Dittrich contributed with an assist in the Blugolds' only goal of the game in the third period. In Saturday's home opener, Dittrich opened the scoring for the Blugolds, who defeated Bethel 3-1, with a goal at 4:35 in the second period. Dittrich now leads the Blugolds in points with two.
