(UWECBlugolds.com) - After two rounds of the 2011 NCAA Championship, the UW-Eau Claire women's golf team is tied for 11th place out of 19 teams at Mission Inn Golf & Tennis Resort. The Blugolds and Washington University-St. Louis (Mo.) both have a two-day total of 687 strokes. Methodist University (N.C.) leads the field with 637. Gustavus Adolphus College (Minn.) is in second place with 655 strokes and St. Mary’s College (Ind.) is third with 656 strokes. Catherine Wagner (So.-Austin, Minn.) finished with 79 strokes in the both the first and second rounds for a two-day total of 158. She is tied for second place overall. Methodist’s Paige Caldwell leads the field of 101-golfers with 153 strokes. Sara Mattes (Jr.-La Crosse, Wis./Central) improved her stroke count by eight over the first day to finish with a two-day total of 174. She is tied for 56th overall. Jamie Hauser (Jr.-Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) is tied for 62nd with 176 strokes, Katie Maurer (Jr.-Forest Lake, Minn./Convent of the Visitation) has 179, tied for 73rd and Emily Swift (Jr.-Onalaska, Wis.) is 83rd with 184 strokes. The third day of the four-day tournament will get underway at 8:50 a.m. (Eastern) for the Blugolds. |
