Fri, Sep 22, 2023 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Polus Picks up Lone Wrestling Win at Stevens Point By: Kevin Meinholz, Sports Information Director STEVENS POINT, Wis. (UWECBlugolds.com) - Levi Polus (Jr.-Winona, Minn.) picked up a victory at 18th-ranked UW-Stevens Point but was the only UW-Eau Claire wrestler to do so in a 35-3 loss to the Pointers at Berg Gymnasium today. Competing at 157 pounds, Polus won with a 4-3 decision over Stevens Point’s Kory Kleuskens. Polus improves to 8-15 on the season. Ricky Gonzales (So.-Bluffton, S.C.) also had a good match at 165 pounds, but fell just short, 4-2. The ranked Pointers improve to 10-9 overall and 3-2 in the conference. The Blugolds fall to 3-14 on the season and 1-4 in the WIAC. Next up for Eau Claire is the WIAC Championship. Competition will take place Sunday, February 27 beginning at 10 a.m. in Platteville. |
