Sun, Nov 9, 2025 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Track & Field Opens Outdoor Season in Tennessee By: Kevin Meinholz, Sports Information Director MEMPHIS, Tenn. (UWECBlugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire women's outdoor track and field team opened the season competing in the 2010 Rhodes College Invitational today. The Blugolds took third place out of 19 teams after scoring 72 points. Rhodes College won the meet with 100.5 points while Loras College finished second with 86. Eau Claire had five finishes of third place or better on the day. Hayley Suckow (Sr.-Elk Mound, Wis.) had the Blugolds' best finish as she won the pole vault with a height of 3.50 meters (11-5.75). Also in the field, Brittany Frederick (So.-Green Bay, Wis./Preble) took second in the hammer throw with an NCAA Division III Championship provisional qualifying toss of 47.62 meters (156-3). She also finished third in the shot put with a distance of 12.47 meters (40-11). Julia Baranek (So.-Port Washington, Wis.) finished second in the high jump with a height of 1.57 meters (5-1.75). On the track, Alyssa Sybilrud (So.-Savage, Minn./Burnsville) took second in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:40.71. The Blugolds will compete again next Friday (April 2) in the UW-Oshkosh Invite. Action will get underway at noon. |
