(UWECBlugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire men's indoor track and field team is set to compete at the 2010 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship, which will be held March 12 and 13 at DePauw University's Indoor Tennis and Track Center in Greencastle, Ind. The Blugolds have five athletes qualified in two different events. Tony Sigrist (So.-Byron, Minn.) will compete in the field for Eau Claire as he participates in the 35-pound weight throw. He has the eighth best toss in the nation this season and qualified with a distance of 18.53 meters (60-9.25) at the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championship on February 27. Eau Claire will also compete in the distance medley relay after qualifying on March 6 with a time of 10:03.41 at the Pointer Last Chance meet, the 10th best time in the nation this year. The group that will compete at nationals includes Wes Fischer (Sr.-Rosemount, Minn.), Adam Flyte (Sr.-Fort Atkinson, Wis.), Brent Kann (Sr.-Rice Lake, Wis.) and Patrick Mackin (So.-Green Bay, Wis./Notre Dame Academy). |
