(UWECBlugolds.com) - The UW-Eau Claire men's track and field team placed first out of three teams today at the UW-Eau Claire Triangular at the McPhee Physical Education Center. The Blugolds finished with 204.50 points on the day. UW-Platteville took second with 146.50 points and UW-Stevens Point placed third with 116. Eau Claire came away with six first place finishes, including four on the track. Patrick Keyes (Jr.-Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine) won the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 7.78. Wes Fischer (Sr.-Rosemount, Minn.) won the 800-meter run in 1:57.55. Austin Heath (So.-Viroqua, Wis.) came away with a victory in the 200-meter dash in 23.46 and Brent Kann (Sr.-Rice Lake, Wis.) won the 3,000-meter run in 8:41.37. In the field, Grant Haugan (Sr.-Green Bay, Wis./Ashwaubenon) won the long jump with a distance of 6.70 meters (21-11.75) and Tony Sigrist (So.-Byron, Minn.) won the weight throw with a throw of 16.62 meters (54-6.50). The Blugolds travel to Menomonie next Saturday for the Warren Bowlus Open. Action is set to get underway at noon. |
